Holly and Ivy

A traditional  rich fruitcake with a layer of marzipan and covered with sugarpaste. Royal iced dots are around the top edge and shells around the lower edge. A large floral spray of holly, ivy and a poinsettia made from sugar and tied with fine ribbon sits on top, the whole effect is finished with a red ribbon around the side of the cake.

 


A Christmas Rose

A simple design has been chosen for this cake made from sponge. Two tone ribbon is used for the side and is finished with a multi- layered bow. A hand piped royal icing inscription is in front of the single semi-transparent flower and leaves. These are made from gelatin on a wire frame and can be kept as a keepsake if stored correctly, it is not an edible decoration. The flower is finished with fine ribbon.

 


 A Christmas Spray

Christmas roses are amongst the flowers chosen for the top of this cake contrasting against the dark winter foliage of holly and ivy. A seasonal inscription is piped direct to the surface of the cake and the little holly with it's berry is piped in colour onto the board edges. Christmas colours of red and green are used for the three rows of fine ribbon around the side of the cake
