Ruby Anniversary

A spray of hand moulded roses are attatched to the surface of this ruby anniversary cake.
A hand-piped inscription on top and shell edging around the base needs just a double row of fine ribbon on the side of the cake to complete the effect.

Pink Bootees

Moulded baby shoes sit on a sugar plaque on this christening cake and may be kept carefully as a keepsake of the day. An inscription is hand-piped direct to the cake surface and a sugarpaste frill is  gently looped around the side. Tiny bows are fixed to the top of each frill and a narrow ribbon at the base of the cake peeps through the frills.

Golden Jubilee

This cake was entered into: The Kent County Master Bakers and Confectioners Association 2002 competition and won 1st prize.
I designed it to celebrate The Queen's Golden Jubilee. It was covered in sugarpaste and had hand piped sugar lace pieces around the top edge, the lettering and numerals were run-out pieces attached after they were dry. The crown was formed from pastillage pieces. Fine red, white and blue ribbon around the side finished the theme.

Christening Quilt

An heirloom quilted blanket was the inspiration for this christening cake for a boy. A blue edged plaque was used for the simple top with a delicately coloured and  embossed picture of a baby. The plaque can be removed before cutting and stored carefully as a keepsake.

Anniversary Heart

Flowers were piped directly onto the surface of this sugarpasted cake, a contrasting colour has been used to suggest stems for the flowers. The inscription and initials have also been piped direct to the surface and a fine ribbon used to decorate the side edges of the cake.
